What to expect
At The Mummy Chiro, we’re passionate about our patients feeling better in as few sessions as possible. We use a combination of hands-on treatment along with guided exercises to get you moving better, feeling better, and staying better.
Your first appointment
Depending on your reason for seeing us you may proceed in three different ways;
Pain relief/Prenatal care: For most first appointments we’ll offer you your first treatment, we usually recommend booking a follow-up within 7 - 10 days to see how you got on after your first appointment, to answer any questions, and to do a second treatment to allow the best prognosis.
Postnatal care: We will go through a bespoke exercise rehabilitation plan for you to work through at home. This can be followed by 1-2-1 sessions or a follow up appointment after a period of working through the exercises at home.
Your first appointment will take around 1 hour.
We talk through your detailed medical history and presenting complaint, and discuss your main concerns and goals.
We’ll do a physical examination. We may ask you to dress down slightly if you are happy to, to allow us to assess and examine more thoroughly.
Our Report of Findings will discuss our findings, and outline a treatment plan tailored to you.
Payment is made through the online booking app or contactless payment. We do accept cash, but please make sure you bring the correct amount as we do not keep cash on the premises.

Getting here
On the day of your appointment, you’ll receive a text message 2 hours before your appointment. If you are unable to attend for any reason, please call to let us know as soon as possible.
On-street parking is available on the opposite side of the road. Please be considerate of local residents when parking.
If you need assistance on arrival please call us. If the weather is poor, please call and wait in the car and I can make sure the gate is open for you to come straight in.
When approaching the house there is a side gate to the left of the house, please ring the bell on the side gate on arrival. We will come out and welcome you.
The Cabin
The Cabin (pictured) is our Shrewsbury-based, purpose-built chiropractic treatment room, located at the rear of our garden. Your little one is welcome to attend with you.
It’s fully equipped with a chiropractic table and all kinds of props, as well as a play mat and toys for your little one. Feel free to bring a bouncer, toys, or anything else that will settle your baby and make you feel more at home and relaxed.
The walk to the cabin is down three small steps, along a pebbled path so if you are bringing your little one, a car seat or carrier may be easier.
The Cabin is heated, but the toilet is in the outhouse, which can be a little chilly in Winter!
