After having a baby, up to half of us mums experience a weakness in either our tummy or pelvic floor area, which can create instability and affect core strength.

The Mummy MOT® is a comprehensive postpartum check-up for new mothers 6-weeks after delivery and beyond. We’ll assess the strength, activation, and function of your abdominal and pelvic floor muscles following childbirth.

The Mummy MOT is recommended for mums who are 6-8 weeks postbirth, following both vaginal & C-section deliveries. However, it is appropriate for any woman who has carried or given birth to a child in her lifetime.

What is the Mummy MOT®?

The Mummy MOT® is a 90-minute assessment that includes:

  • Full postural and musculoskeletal screen

  • Diastasis recti abdominis (tummy gap) assessment

  • Pelvic floor muscle assessment

  • C-section and episiotomy scar

  • Screening of bladder, bowel, and sexual function

  • Functional movement screen

  • Return to exercise & sports readiness

Mums need to bend, squat, and lift, so we provide a tailored postpartum chiropractic rehabilitation plan and functional exercises for you to help manage the physical motherhood demands on your recovering body.
